Our Minister

Our minister is Rev. Harvey Osborne who prefers to be called Harvey.

He is married to his wife, Joanne.

Harvey has four grown children – Bethany, Anna, Laura and Nathan – as well as three grandchildren whom he loves very much!

Harvey was raised on a farm near Markdale, Ontario. He worked for the Ministry of Natural Resources for 6 1/2 years before going to the University of Western Ontario for his B.A.. Harvey trained at Knox, College in Toronto and was ordained on May 20, 1979.

From his teenage years on, Harvey has had a strong awareness of God’s hand on his life giving him a sense of God’s Purpose and Love. It was during these years, Harvey accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Saviour. It is very important to Harvey to lovingly and faithfully serve his Saviour.

Harvey started his ministry as a Student – Minister in the Whitechurch Pastoral Charge (Near Wingham, Ontario). From there he went to the pastoral charges of Thompson, Manitoba, Alliston & Mansfield, Bowmanville and Teeswater & Kinlough. On November 1, 2009, Harvey was inducted in the St. Andrew’s and Knox, Dawn Pastoral Charge.

Some of Harvey’s interests are fishing, reading, computers, gardening, bicycling and renovating the home where Joanne and he live. If you want someone to talk to, you will find Harvey having a listening ear as he loves people and working with them.

Both Harvey and Joanne are very pleased to be living in Petrolia. They find Petrolia a very open and friendly community.
